McKINLEY

INTERSPORT

McKINLEY
INTERSPORT

In celebration of McKINLEY’s 25th anniversary, Hello There created an online game where the player follows the footsteps of an adventurer, searching for hidden treasure inside Mount McKinley. After exploring 4 linked areas, the player faces a challenging skill-based game, for a chance to win INTERSPORT vouchers.
Through the game the player interacts with up to 300 outdoor and summer products. The campaign received a silver award at the Swedish Design Awards (Marketing) and even though the competition is closed you can still visit the McKINLEY world: http://intersport.se/sommar09/

Hello There, Douglas Furén!

Douglas Furén joins the Hello There writers. Douglas started out as a graphic student at the Computer Game Development – Graphics and Design program at the University of Skövde. An early focus on writing made him an official game-writer at GRIN. There, he wrote for Bionic Commando Rearmed and started working on Final Fantasy: Fortress, a stand-alone sequel to FFXII.

After GRIN, Douglas spent time giving nationwide lectures on game-writing. He also developed his own childrens’ audiobook-app called “Anton & Lumbus”. Apart from drawing dragons, his first assignment at Hello There will be writing for one of our upcoming marketing games for iPad.

Michael Gullbrandson joins Hello There

Michael Gullbrandson joins the Hello There art team. This graphic designer comes from a wide range of conceptual and illustration assignments, including innumerable portraits and covers for both books and records.

Michael’s primary task at Hello There will be putting his magic hands on two of our latest projects, an online adventure and an educational app to be released on iPad.

Most of all, Michael can’t wait to go back to New York, where he placed a visit last year and fell in love with the city’s epic grandiosity.

Johan in Kleerup’s new video?

Kleerup has a band called Me and My Army. Me and My Army just realeased a video for their song “Only One”.

What’s more important, why haven’t Art Director Johan Mentzer at Hello There (who also happens to be an awesome drummer with a history of touring and released records) told the rest of us he is actually in the band!?

Johan himself denies any connections to Kleerup and Me and My Army. The rest of us are eagerly digging for the truth.

Check out the video for yourselves and make up your mind. Is it Johan on the drums or not?

Happy birthday to Nick!

Today just happens to be Producer Nick’s (to the left) birthday! This of course means Nick comes as beautifully dressed as no one but himself can; Hammarby shirt and his flamingo slippers, chilling by his Hammarby flag and coffee cup.

We had some wine, sang a song and kept polishing on our two next releases. One of them to become our first iPhone/iPad release.

Exciting times, to say at least.

AW stands for “Acrobatic Will”

This picture shows:

- A therapeutic session to cure fear of flying?
- Arshak and Filip screaming “I AM NOT AFRAID OF FLYING” in high-pitched voices while imitating airplanes?
- Arshak making a sharp right turn and Filip diving to avoid a tragic collision, that would otherwise trash his inner, imagined passengers?

Fortunately, none of the above. Instead, it’s all about a Wednesday after work at Crib Jonas, with wine, snacks and some Kinect. As most of us still hadn’t tried the toy out, it was all fun with “just” a head or two knocked against the ceiling. We played ball games, jumped for tokens while riding a river raft and patted exotic cat animals on a beach. Eh?

Yeah… Fun times.

Hello There expanding

Johan Fridh, Johan Carlsson and Gustav Nilsson joining Hello There!

Polite as we are, we need to give a proper welcome to our new members of the Hello There crew:

Johan Fridh comes from working with graphical solutions for newspapers like GP and Mölndal/Kungälvsposten. Johan also has music productions in his bag of tricks and names Alphaville as one of the artists he’s worked with. Johan will assist the art team and direct the first steps in creating an in-house sound production unit.

Johan Carlsson used to ensure the quality of tour amplifiers. Fortunately, he decided to follow his dreams and educated himself into a project manager within game development. At Hello There he will ensure that everyone’s enjoying work and resolve any issues rising within project management.

Gustav Nilsson joins the Hello There developers, with experience from modding in the Warcraft III-community and creating smaller hobby games. Having studied project management and working his own company, he’s also hoping to bring some brand new cases to Hello There.

Johan, Johan and Gustav, welcome!

Spring, brought to you by Hello There

Spring is here! At least if you believe Jonas Hedlund, who recently joined Hello There and proclaimed spring being the time of year when he brings out his scooters.

Well, the beautiful monsters are out. So let’s start looking for brighter mornings and warmer days while thanking Jonas for deciding spring has finally come.

Hello There Movie Festival

Gothenburg’s International Film Festival is currently making films, directors, writers and audiences go bonanza all over town.

At Hello There, we love movies. So much that we have our own little festival. With ourselves as movie makers, actors and audience.

Last time stuff went down, it was action theme. Our animator Gabriel took it one step further and applied some of the good old love and revenge into his creation, and of course won the epic first prize of the festival – a statue worthy of his achievement!

Early Version Excitement!

We are currently playing some very early versions of our first game for iPhone and iPad.

As you can see on the picture, we are madly excited. Some of us are actually not working at all, some not eating and some are not even playing ping-pong!

Stay tuned for updates.
